Today I bring you the last installment of all the WIPs going into hibernation because of the Pigskin Party KAL.
Today we have Mitred Square Memory Blanket. These past couple of months I have really been able to bust out a lot of new squares. I’m happy that I purchased sharper metal tipped needles. The join still catches once in awhile but I can live with that. I really just can’t get over how crazy pretty the mix of all these yarns are. This will be the WIP I miss the most…
My scrap blanket hit a speed bump this past holiday weekend…
This is Harper the ball of fluff my parents are fostering. Not only does he not understand knitting isn’t for licking, he doesn’t understand why I can’t spend all my free time throwing his toys for fetching. This little pup is the energizer bunny of playing fetch. You will tire out before he does. If you don’t throw the toy in a timely manner he WILL yap loudly at you.
I finished exactly one and a half squares in a long weekend because my large blanket was very tempting for puppy cuddling!
Oh my gosh….the proper tool for the job makes ALL the difference! I’ve done the last two squares of my mitred scrap blanket with the Knitters Pride Karbonz and it’s like night and day!
I finished the bottom row with the bamboo Clover needles and the new column of squares with the Karbonz. The metal tips are just what I needed. The cable joins aren’t as smooth as I would like. They catch a stitch here and there depending on what kind of scraps I’m using. I can deal with that (for now anyway).
I might be my imagination but I think I’m getting faster at my mitre squares!
I can almost do an entire square in an evening….provided it’s not my bedtime turn with Jellybean and I can just sit and relax. I’m still working across the bottom but I know I will make another column after this row. I plan on going crazy on this blanket into September 7th when the Pigskin Party KAL kicks off. Then his will go back to hibernation for a bit.
I’m feeling a bit of ambivalent about my WIPs of late so my blanket has been the recipient of much attention.
It’s squared off again. For sure I’m continuing to add to this project. And I think I’m going to add another row versus a column…for now at least.
I have less than a month until the start of the Down Cellar Studio’s Pigskin Party KAL and that contest does not allow WIPs. So I need to clean the decks so to speak before picking up new projects. I’m already scheming on what I’m going to cast on! Until then…..more Blanket!!
My Memory Blanket has been quietly hibernating for over a month. I needed just one more square to finish a row. I thought my Antimuon yarn would be a perfect fit…
My knitting mojo has me torn between a lot of projects so I think I may pack this one back into hibernation for a bit. But maybe after just one more pet 😊
I absolutely adore this blanket! I’ve added three new squares since I last showed you. The diagonal lines that are popping out just make my heart happy. Right now this is my TV knitting of choice.
What do you know knit while watching TV?
My Memory Blanket has seen the addition of several new squares!
It’s getting hard to photograph it’s so big! It’s been a great pallete cleanser during my recent bout of Knitting ennui. I have a fair amount of ends to weave in but I can’t stop thinking “just one more square!”
I once again felt the siren’s call of the Sock Yarn Memory blanket. Due to a recent bout of sinus infection and double ear infection I managed to add the entire bottom row while home sick from work.
I have amassed a ton of scraps over the past year and I have plenty of “fuel” to keep this going for awhile. I see this project as being heavy in the rotation for awhile! Sometimes I just sit and pet the pretty. Very good for stress relief but not so good for actually making progress, lol.
I’ve gotten to where my blanket obsession has abated slightly. I managed to knit like crazy and get a crazy amount of progress!
I’m feeling the sirens call of other projects again. So I’ve moved this project to my bedside table for zen knitting before bed. Progress should slow considerably since I get about 10 minutes in before I fall asleep needles in hand. Oh the life of an exhausted toddler momma!
This might pick up some steam again in September as I joined a couple sick yarn swaps and I’m expecting some exciting new mini skeins!
